Serving our Community and the World

The Gathering has developed a few strategic partners with whom we work to actively demonstrate Christ’s love to the world. Many of our LIFEgroups work hand in hand with these partners on a regular basis to bring God’s light to our community.

Good Neighbor House

Good Neighbor House was founded out of a collaboration of eight Dayton area Seventh-Day Adventist churches who desired to make a difference by helping to meet the needs of the under-served in the Dayton community. So in 1994, the congregations came together to form Good Neighbor House, a nonprofit organization that provides food pantry services, clothing, and household items to under-served individuals and families in the Greater Dayton Region. As the need for affordable healthcare increased within Dayton’s working uninsured community, so did Good Neighbor House’s vision.

Today, Good Neighbor House offers a full range of Human and Health Services to the community as we collaborate with many local agencies to assist clients. Through the contributions of dedicated donors and volunteers, the agency is funded and supported by monetary and in-kind donations that help to make a tremendous difference in the lives of many throughout the Greater Dayton Region.

St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul is the most essential part of our community’s safety net for the homeless and impoverished: we stand between them and almost unimaginable consequences. And we stand behind them as they struggle to reclaim their lives. Without our work – and our respect, dedication, compassion and effectiveness – thousands of lives would be impacted; many would be lost.

St. Vincent de Paul is a faith-based non-profit serving the Greater Dayton Area. We aid the homeless and impoverished by providing emergency shelter, transitional and permanent supportive housing, food, clothing and household items, and guidance to leading a self-sustaining life.

Victory Project

The Victory Project breaks down the walls of captivity. By undoing the youths' isolated experiences, we expose them to the potential of a positive socio-economic standing through our 3E’s Curriculum: Education, Entrepreneurship, and Enlightenment.

Our youth no longer depend on a criminal or social system which can enable their destructive lifestyles. Finding freedom and independence by obtaining marketable skills allows them to compete in the workforce.
